When the chin is set back or the lower part of the face does not look defined due to its short length, several types of surgery can correct small chin. When the teeth are in occlusion, contouring surgery may be sufficient. Osteotomy—through which the chin bone is cut and pulled forward—or implant insertion—through which gore-tex, silicone, or other types of fillers are inserted—are recommended.
